Gateway Friends ~

What would you like to hear first?  The bad news or the good news?  I really don't like it when people say that to me.  It seems like the bad news is endless, and rarely do we hear any good news.

BAD NEWS:  In light of the recent tragedies in Ecuador and Japan (earthquakes); Houston (flooding); Jerusalem (bus bombing); New York (politics); every city in the world is experiencing some form of hardship and heartbreak.

GOOD NEWS: Seriously, this is a season to not be scared, but prepared! Be prepared to share some good news in the midst of all the bad.  Listen to just a few examples of good news: Sunday at Gateway, three people dedicated their lives to Jesus.  Several new families have decided to make Gateway their church community.  The weather the last few days in Salem have set 100+ year old heat records.  This is really good news if you have air conditioning.  Prayer gatherings are happening all week (join a Life Group). The amazing one month Cleansing Stream Life group launches Wednesday evening at Gateway.  50+ Ladies will experience a life changing, redemptive and refreshing Women's Retreat this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  At Gateway this month, we're learning how to sleep better. #sweetdreams

"I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words." (Psalm 17:6 ESV)  Good or bad, call upon the God who can assist, breakthrough, comfort, deliver, encourage, fix, give, help, instruct, and I could finish the alphabet with the many ways Daddy-God sustains us.
