Family-Friendly Reading Plan (Dec 7-Dec 13)

Theme: Peace on Earth, Peace in Us

DAY 1 — SUNDAY

Scripture: John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you… not as the world gives.”

Family Question:
What is the difference between Jesus’ peace and the world’s peace?

Activity:
Everyone takes one deep breath and says, “Jesus, give us Your peace.”

DAY 2 — MONDAY

Scripture: Isaiah 26:3

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast.”

Family Question:
What helps you keep your mind on Jesus when you feel worried?

Activity:
Write one worry on paper and give it to Jesus by placing it in a bowl labeled “God’s Hands.”

DAY 3 — TUESDAY

Scripture: Luke 2:13–14

“Glory to God… and on earth peace.”

Family Question:
Why do you think the angels announced peace on earth when Jesus was born?

Activity:
Create a small paper angel or draw one. Write the word PEACE on its wings.

DAY 4 — WEDNESDAY

Scripture: Philippians 4:6–7

“The peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds.”

Family Question:
How does prayer bring peace?

Activity:
Pray together for someone who needs God’s peace today.

DAY 5 — THURSDAY

Scripture: Colossians 3:15

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.”

Family Question:
Where do you need Jesus’ peace to “rule” in your life?

Activity:
Choose one room in your home and say a short blessing over it:
“Jesus, fill this room with Your peace.”

DAY 6 — FRIDAY

Scripture: Psalm 4:8

“I will lie down and sleep in peace…”

Family Question:
What helps you rest peacefully at night?

Activity:
Turn off the lights, light one Advent candle, and sit quietly together for one minute.

DAY 7 — SATURDAY

Scripture: Romans 12:18

“If it is possible… live at peace with everyone.”

Family Question:
Who is one person you can show extra kindness to this week?

Activity:
Each family member does one “peace act”—a kind surprise for someone else.
